When we picked Cosmo up, it was pitiful to see him, with his ravaged skin and that sad, uncomprehending face. At first, we thought it was mange, but it ended up being Leishmania. They abandoned him like that, sick, disposing of him as if he were something in the middle of the road. Leishmania is a chronic disease, yes, but it can be treated, and if caught early, the animals respond very well. It's clear that whoever did it hasn't a shred of humanity. Despite that, Cosmo is an adorable little dog who appreciates any kind words with a wagging tail. He's already undergoing treatment, and it's a joy to see him now. This sweetheart needs a family that will give him the love he craves and a real home.
